A Startup Blueprint for 2024 - 2030
Pioneering sustainable growth and innovation as we drive towards achieving global economic leadership

In the intricate tapestry of India's startup ecosystem, where opinions abound as plentifully as fans on a cricket match day, the time for a pivotal shift in narrative and action is now. Seasoned by experience and observation in the vibrant world of startups, I find a resonating theme with the ghazal ‘Hungama hai kyon barpa’ – a question that beckons us to ponder, "Why the fuss?" Indeed, why?
The fuss, as I see it, stems from our collective obsession with startups – a national spectacle that rivals the fervour of cricket. Amid this clamour, two factions of 'startup experts' emerge: those peddling the obvious and the prophets of doom. Yet, amidst their cacophony, the real melody – the transformative power of startups – often gets lost.
As we stand on the precipice of the post-General Elections 2024-2030 agenda, the call for a strategic redirection could not be more urgent. With the SDG 2030 milestone in sight, India's startup ecosystem is not just a playground of innovation but a battleground where the future of sustainable development and global economic leadership is forged.
Innovative Solutions for Sustainability: Just as a cricket team needs diverse talents to win, our startup ecosystem must champion innovators tackling renewable energy, water conservation, and waste management. These are the bowlers and batsmen of our economic game, capable of delivering the sustainability runs we desperately need.
Digital Inclusion and Access: The digital divide in India is akin to a team playing without its full squad. Bridging this gap ensures that the rural batsman or the urban bowler has equal access to the field, making the game truly inclusive and our society more equitable.
Healthcare and Education Technology: In the game of development, health and education are the all-rounders. Startups focusing on these sectors are the versatile players who can bat and bowl, ensuring a healthier and more educated populace ready to take on the global challenges.
Financial Inclusion through Fintech: Just as a cricket team relies on its sponsors and financial backers, our economy needs inclusive financial services that fintech startups can provide, ensuring every citizen has a ticket to the game.
Research, Development, and Collaboration: Winning a cricket match requires strategy, preparation, and teamwork. Similarly, fostering a collaborative environment between startups, academia, and the government can lead to innovations that not only score runs domestically but also compete on the global stage.
The journey ahead demands a nurturing ecosystem where startups are not just surviving but thriving, where innovation is not just encouraged but celebrated, and where sustainability is not just a goal but a guiding principle.
As I reflect on the wisdom of Akbar Allahabadi's ghazal, I'm reminded that the fuss is not about predicting who will win or lose, but about nurturing a field where every player, regardless of their role, can shine. The startup ecosystem, much like a cricket team, thrives on diversity, resilience, and a shared vision for victory.
India’s 2024-2030 agenda should not only be a blueprint for economic growth but a declaration of the nation’s commitment to sustainable development, inclusivity, and innovation. It's a game plan that recognizes the value of every player in the ecosystem, from the innovator working on renewable energy solutions to the fintech entrepreneur making financial services accessible to all.
As we rally behind this agenda, let's move beyond the binary of success and failure, the obvious and the negative. Let's embrace the complexity, the nuance, and the sheer potential of India's startup ecosystem to not just participate in the global economy but to lead it.
In this narrative, every entrepreneur, investor, and policymaker is part of the team, each with a role to play in achieving our collective goals. As we chart this course together, let's remember that the essence of any game, be it cricket or the startup ecosystem, lies not in the outcome but in how we play it.
Let us play with integrity, with innovation, and with an unyielding commitment to our diverse society and our planet. For in the end, the question 'Why the fuss?' finds its answer not in the noise but in the silent resolve to make a difference, to change the game, and to leave a legacy that future generations will inherit with pride.
At T9L Qube this is our agenda, our pledge, and our challenge. As we embark on this journey from 2024 to 2030 and beyond, let's ensure that every entrepreneur is empowered, every innovation is valued, and every step we take is a step towards a sustainable and prosperous future. Together, let's transform the landscape of Indian startups and carve a path towards a brighter, more sustainable tomorrow.
